A 29-year-old man from Chabulabwambe Village in Chipepo Chiefdom, Gwembe District, has been discovered dead, hang!ng from a ratchet rópe inside his thatched house in a suspected case of su!c!de.
He has been identified as Nchimunya Mapulanga, with his remains found by a 9-year-old girl around 06:30 hours on 15th December, 2025.
On the said date, around 06:20 hours, the girl was sent by her mother to collect K17.50 owed to her by the deceased.
When the juvenile entered the house of the deceased, she found her uncle hang!ng and immediately rushed back to inform her mother.
Her mother, together with a neighbour, went to confirm the report and thereafter alerted community members.
Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Moono Namalongo, stated that his officers who visited the scene confirmed the incident, adding that no foul play is suspected.
