Lusaka, Zambia, Monday, December 15th, 2025—Independent Munali MP candidate Obbie Musunga Chomba launched “The Munali We Want Vision and Policy Document” at a well-attended public gathering in Twin Palm, presenting a people-centred agenda for inclusive, accountable and sustainable development ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Chomba, a 34-year-old entrepreneur and pharmaceutical consultant, emphasized his commitment to women and youth empowerment, education, environmental sustainability and community safety. He described the vision as a roadmap to ensure that every citizen enjoys dignity, opportunity, and access to essential services.

The vision is anchored on five core pillars. Transparency and accountability will ensure open governance and responsible use of public resources. Community participation will place residents at the centre of decision-making. Equity and inclusion will provide equal opportunities for women, youth, and vulnerable groups, including support for cooperatives, youth innovation centres, and rehabilitation programs. Sustainability focuses on climate-resilient infrastructure, green spaces and collaboration with government ministries. Finally, partnership and collaboration will leverage government, private sector and civil society for effective implementation.

Chomba outlined key priorities, including the construction of a three-storey education complex in Mtendere, scholarship programs, mentorship initiatives, strengthened security through community policing, solar streetlights and smart surveillance systems.

He is the Founder and CEO of OMC Health Solutions, OMC Pharmacies, and AFRIZE Innovations, creating over 115 jobs and contributing to Zambia’s health and innovation sector. He holds a Diploma and Bachelor’s in Pharmacy and is an MBA finalist at the University of Lusaka. With 12 years of leadership experience across public, private, NGO, and multinational sectors, Chomba has served as General Secretary of the Zambia Union of Pharmacy Professionals and represented Zambia at WHO and ILO conferences.

The launch drew residents, youths, women, faith leaders, and media, reflecting growing interest in Munali’s political future. Chinfwembe Jonas, a resident, said, “We don’t believe in people anyhow anymore. But in this youthful team, we see substance and genuine partners in developing Munali.” Milner Mweemba added, “Finally, a vision that speaks to everyone.”

Chomba said the vision will be implemented through community planning forums, partnerships with government and private stakeholders, advisory committees, and monitoring mechanisms aligned with national development plans. He concluded:

“Together, we can build a Munali that is Healthy. Empowered. Educated. Clean. Safe. And Prosperous.”
