A 20-year-old woman has survived a terrifying attempted rape after being attacked inside her own house in Mambwe District of Eastern Province.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner Robertson Mweemba confirmed the incident, saying it occurred on Wednesday, 17th December 2025, between 20:30 hours and 21:00 hours.
Mr. Mweemba said the victim reported that a man age not yet identified allegedly forced himself on her in an attempt to rape her.
During the ordeal, the attacker is said to have torn the victim’s underwear while trying to have carnal knowledge of her against her will.
Despite the trauma, the survivor managed to resist and escape further harm.
Mr. Mweemba further disclosed that the suspect has since been arrested.
