So, Bantu Bakamina, on this special day, the Tourist Capital has proudly recorded the birth of three New Year babies between midnight and 07:30 hours.
All three are girls and were safely delivered at Livingstone University Teaching Hospital.
The first baby was born at 00:12 hours, followed by the second at 06:57 hours and the third at 07:01 hours.
In keeping with tradition, we shared hampers with the new mothers as a gesture of celebration and support during this joyous moment.
We are grateful that we crossed into the New Year in an atmosphere of calm and peace, with the hospital recording no casualties during the period.
Yesterday, we also took time to tour the city to observe how residents welcomed the New Year.
It was encouraging to note that many were in places of worship, while others celebrated responsibly and peacefully as they enjoyed bottles of BABYLON WATER (Alcohol) 😁
This is a positive sign, and we hope to continue on this trajectory as we move forward. Let us continue to show love, unity, and care for one another.
Kudos to the people of Livingstone and the Zambia Police Service for the effective patrols that ensured a safe and conducive environment for everyone to move freely.
