Monze Mission Hospital Medical Superintendent, Dr Ibrahim Sufyani, has confirmed the collapse of a 10-thousand litres water tank at the facility erected using resources from the Constituency Development Fund–CDF.

He explains to Byta FM News in an interview that the tank collapsed due to the weakness of its holding stand.

Sufyani has described the development as a serious setback to the hospital as it will add to the water challenges the facility is already faced with.

He has called for quick intervention from the Local Authority, cautioning that any delays to replace the tank will continue putting lives of patients at risk.

Meanwhile, Monze Town Council Director–Engineering, Victor Mbaimbai, says an assessment of the damage is underway, with a way forward to be determined soon after.
