The Lusaka Securities Exchange-LuSE, has congratulated Zambia Sugar PLC for hitting an exceptional milestone of over $1 billion market capitalisation on the securities exchange.

Thirty years after becoming the second company to list on LuSE, Zambia Sugar has joined an exclusive group as the third company to exceed the $1 billion market capitalization mark.

At the close of the 2025 financial year, the Company’s share price stood at K48 per share. Since then, it has risen by approximately 40% to K67 per share.

This growth, supported by the appreciation of the Kwacha – up nearly 10% since December 2025 and reaching a fresh two-year high on 5 January 2026, has propelled the Company to this achievement.

Speaking at the close of 2025, Zambia Sugar Managing Director, Oswald Magwenzi, reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to driving private sector-led growth and national development.

He made these remarks at the 4th Public Private Dialogue Forum convened by President Hakainde Hichilema in Lusaka on 12 December 2025, where Zambia Sugar served as Anchor Sponsor.

Mr. Magwenzi further highlighted that the Company is currently implementing projects valued at US$132 million, underscoring its continued investment in growth and sustainability.
