Five children have drowned in the Zambia National Service – ZNS – Dam in Lusaka’s Meanwood Ndeke Phase Three area.

According to residents, the deceased are aged between 10 and 14 years.

They say two of the children had traveled from the Copperbelt Province for the holidays, while the other three are residents of Meanwood Ndeke.

A ZNBC News, which visited the scene, found all the five bodies had already been retrieved by members of the community.

Police are yet to issue a comprehensive statement on the incident.
