A Kabwe High Court judge, Ireen Mbewe, has recused herself from presiding over the manslaughter case involving Maria Zaloumis, popularly known as the Zed Farmer, her partner Nathaniel Barthram, and three others.
Judge Mbewe withdrew from the case during plea taking, citing personal grounds.
She explained that she shares a personal relationship with Ms. Zaloumis, which makes it inappropriate for her to handle the matter.
Zaloumis, Barthram, and three co-accused are facing manslaughter charges in connection with the death of 22-year-old Enock Simfukwe.
