A COUPLE has committed su!c!de after marital disputes over child bearing.
Patson Chabinga aged 47 of Dungulungu Village in chief Kambombo reported that his son Robert Chabinga aged 28 of the same address committed su!c!de together with his wife Busy Kachali aged 20.
Muchinga Commanding officer Paul Achiume said the couple got married in 2017 and since then they were having marital disputes as the husband was always complaining that his wife was not giving him Children.
Mr Achiume said the wife Ms Kachali then took unknown cotton pest!cide after having disputes with her husband on allegations that she was not fertile to produce children.
He said she was rushed to Dungulungu Rural Health Centre for treatment, but later died.
Mr Achiume said while Ms Kachali was being rushed to the said Rural Health Centre, her husband also took the same cotton pest!cide
“He was also rushed to Dungulungu rural Health Centre where he also later died. The two bodies have since been conveyed to Chama District Hospital Mortuary awaiting Postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of death,”he said.
Both Police and relatives do not suspect any foul play.
