Two men have died in a road traffic accident involving a motor bike in Isoka district, Muchinga Province, Zambia.

The accident happened on Tuesday evening at Kabonde village, Chief katyetye’s area along Isoka-Mafinga Road.

According to a statement by Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Paul Achiume, the motor bike rider, Allan Munkondia of July village in Nakonde district, lost control of the bike due to excessive speed and careered off the road to the right and flipped.

He sustained fatal head injuries and died on the spot.

His passenger, Kennedy Sinyangwe of Mukoma village in Nakonde district, also suffered painful waist and right leg injuries and was admitted to Isoka district hospital.

However, he later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.

The motor bike involved in the accident was unregistered and had bent handle bars, rim and damaged headlamp.

Earlier, a photo of Allan Munkondya was shared with Chete FM News by a man who said he was contacted by the people on were on the accident scene to help with identification.

He explained that his phone number was the only one Mr Munkondya’s phone that was reachable at the time.
