(ZNBC) Over 300 people have been left homeless after heavy rains destroyed houses and government infrastructure in Lukusuzi ward of Lumezi district, Eastern Province.
The incident that occurred on Wednesday night resulted in the collapse of 50 housing units, a local court, and a one by three classroom block at Mwanya primary school.
Lumezi District Commissioner Lufeyo NGOMA says the newly constructed Mwanya police post and essential drugs at Mwanya health post were also damaged by the heavy rains.
