PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has advised young people who are looking for life partners to look for friendship and synergy and not acquaintances.

The Head of State said when one is in need that’s when one sees whether their partner is an acquaintance or a true friend.

He said his wife, Mutinta Hichilema was his true friend.

“I want to encourage young people, when you look for a wife, husband, look for some synergy, look for some friends, not acquaintances but true friends, you will know when in need whether this is a partner, acquaintance or true friend. This woman is a true friend of mine,” he said.

He was speaking at the installation ceremony of Commonwealth secretary general, Patricia Scotland as senior head woman yesterday.

The President celebrated Scotland for what she stands for, which is peace and stability.

He urged Chiefs to continue promoting peace, unity and hard work among Zambians.

“We should live as one and continue to work hard to improve household and national food security. Traditional leaders are critical in promoting development in the country,” he said.

He has also assured Zambians that government through irrigation will provide food whether it comes there is rain or not.

Meanwhile, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Garry Nkombo thanked President Hichilema for the good work he has been doing for Zambians.

Nkombo applauded the President for being a brave man who has no fear in providing good services to the people and for being a leader that worked hard for the country.
