Adventist youths from the Nakonde West Mission District participated in this year’s Global Youth Day celebrations at Chilolwa Special School.

The event, held under the theme “ACT: A Community Transformed,” brought together youths from various churches to interact with children with special needs.

The youths donated several items, including two wheelchairs, foodstuffs, and tree seedlings.

The event was graced by His Worship Nathan Musingwa Siame, Council Chairman, who praised the Adventist youths for their maturity, leadership, and commitment to community service.

Mr. Siame also emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting free education, noting that the President’s agenda is to ensure that every child has access to education.

Meanwhile, Muchinga Province Education Standards Officer (SESO) Felix Chansa, added that the free education policy is being implemented in all schools, including special units like Chilolwa Special School.

Mr. Chansa reiterated the importance of putting God at the center of every child’s life.

And, the School highlighted some challenges faced, including shortages of bed space and bedding.

The Global Youth Day celebrations concluded with a Week of Prayer, which was attended by many youths in various churches across the district.
