A motorbike rider of Duwa Village, in Chieftainess Mkanda’s area in, Chipangali District has died after a fatal road traffic accident which occurred yesterday at around 18:45 hours near Msandile Bridge along Lundazi road in Chipangali District.
According to Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Robertson Mweemba, the deceased, Julius Zulu of unknown age collided with the cyclist.
Mr. Mweemba told Breeze FM News that due to excessive speed, the deceased lost control of his motor bike and in the process, went to the right side of the road where he collided with the cyclist who was on his rightful lane and they all fell off.
He said the victim who sustained fatal head injuries died on the spot while the cyclist, Moses Mulilo aged 37 of Mshawa village, sustained multiple body injuries. He is currently admitted in Chipata Central hospital.
