Contrary to the information circulating through various media platforms suggesting that the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), has arrested some individuals in Matero area in Lusaka District in connection with the offence of possession of counterfeit new Zambian Kwacha Bank notes, we wish to report that no such arrests have been effected by the Commission.
We further wish to urge members of the general public to desist from peddling unverified information as it carries potential to create unnecessary panic and speculation.
Citizens are hereby encouraged to continue reporting suspicious activities to the Commission so that by acting together, we can prevent, detect and combat all forms of crime.
