The Choma District Health Office has urged men to overcome their fears and stigma surrounding health check-ups.

District Health Office Focal Person for the Men’s Clinic, Kwembula Mukela, has encouraged men to utilise services offered at the facility without hesitation.

Speaking during a radio programme on Byta FM, Mukela stated that men should not shy away from the clinic, noting that they will be attended to by male healthcare professionals, which helps ensure privacy and comfort.

On the same programme, Alfred Bwalya, a Clinical Officer General at Shampande Clinic, emphasised the significant benefits of seeking men’s health services.

He stated that early detection and treatment of ailments can effectively manage various conditions, pointing out that conditions like prostate cancer, which is often a concern for older men, can be identified and treated at the men’s clinic.

Bwalya added that regular check-ups are essential for preventing serious health issues and ensuring a good quality of life.
