Police in Shiwag’andu have arrested a 47-year-old man of the same area for performing husband duties on his 15-year- old daughter.
According to a police report, the incident is alleged to have occurred on July 30,2025, and was reported to police on September 1,2025.
Anshel Bwalya is reported to have been on separation with his wife last month.
The dispute led to their separation, forcing his wife to get back to her parent’s home while he remained with their 7 children.
The victim is their eldest child.
He is said to have taken advantage of his wife’s absence to prey on their eldest daughter.
Muchinga province police commissioner Dennis Moola has told Chete FM that the suspect could sometimes pressure her into having carnal knowledge with him from his matrimonial bed, but she could refuse.
Mr moola adds that, on the material day, around 17:00 hours the Mr Bwalya was home with all his children, including the victim.
Accused then sent the other children to a cassava field and instructed the victim to remain behind.
This made her uncomfortable and decided to follow her siblings to the field.
He is reported to have followed the victim, and after catching up with her,he grabbed her and took her in the nearby bush and forcefully carnally knew her.
He allegedly threatened to kíll her if she told anyone about it.
on July 31,2025, the victim disclosed to her step sister, who in turn informed their grandmother, and the issue was reported to police.
He is expected to appear in court soon for incest.
