LET ZESCO STICK TO LOAD SHEDDING SCHEDULE
We were privileged this morning to welcome the Minister of Energy, Hon. Makozo Chikote, and his entourage, who came to pay a courtesy call on us at the Provincial Administration in Ndola. The Minister of Energy and his team are in the province to appreciate issues in the energy subsector. The entourage will be also visiting TAZAMA Pipeline later in the day.
We highlighted that the Copperbelt Province is the engine of the Zambian economy, and our Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, has worked tirelessly to bring the province back to life. During this courtesy call, we emphasized that ZESCO should stick to the schedules they provide to the people ,by sticking to the schedule our people will be able to plan properly .
This is where the bone of contention lies: why is ZESCO failing to stick to and follow the schedules? ZESCO’s actions are making our government unpopular and undoing the good work that our Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, and the New Dawn Government have done over the past four years.
We also explained to our people that for many years, our country has lacked alternative energy sources, but our government has embarked on massive investments in energy sources such as solar and coal, among others. We further highlighted that the people of Copperbelt and the entire country are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
We appreciated the Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, and the Minister of Energy, Hon. Makozo Chikote, for working hard to stabilize fuel prices. The Minister’s visit to the Copperbelt demonstrates the government’s commitment to addressing issues in the energy sector.
