Shi Mumbi and Rita Bwalya who is famously known as Bana Mumbi, have been subject of multiple rumors, with some claiming that the two are married. Most of the fans believe that Shi Mumbi and Rita have real life connection because of their on stage convincing behavior and love.
Shi Mumbi has finally decided to clear the rumors. In the Kenny T’s 1 ON 1 Podcast, the Shi Mumbi burst into laughter saying that people always discuss their so-called marriage and wanted to know why. “People should know, Bana Mumbi tebana mwana,” he said.
Interestingly, Shi Mumbi does not care for the rumors, instead he thinks that the audience is so convinced that the two of them play their roles to perfection and that their chemistry can’t be formed anywhere else, and so their made up stories must be real life true stories.
Shi Mumbi shared how the two’s journey started. He said that the two both met at Lusaka playhouse and he was the first one to spot the talent and gave the suggestion that they should partner up. They are now known as one of Zambia’s most admired comedy partnerships.
The truth is different and not shaped for the their immediate public persona. Shi Mumbi made it clear that his real spouse is not a social media user and actively avoids the public. “To the listener she’s not in the public domain and that’s something that I respect” he said.
“Both Shi Mumbi and Bana Mumbi.” he continued “People need to understand that these two are not married, but they play their parts really well.”
