Offical Statement We regret to announce that Miss Grand Zambia will not be able to attend Miss Grand this year due to unfulfilled commitments that left us with very limited time to secure the remaining funds.
Arm Model Management and Nkanda Yatu successfully raised K90,000: K30,000 for the non-refundable license deposit and K60,000 toward Miss Grand wardrobe. The remaining balance was to be raised by His Worship, the Mayor of Chongwe, @Mr. Christopher Habeenzu, and @Hon. Masebo, MP for Chongwe. Despite our clear communication, including the early-September payment deadline which was acknowledged, our calls and messages have not been returned. As a result, Anna will be unable to represent Zambia this year.
Anna Musonda is a proud daughter of Chongwe who has contributed greatly to community initiatives. Help is not mandatory, but communication is. We feel both The Mp and His Worship’s Timely responses would have allowed us to plan; in this case, we have ran out of time. We have done all we can, but our hands are tied.
Arm Model Management has already secured her air ticket, wardrobe, photoshoots, and all necessary preparations. Unfortunately, we must step back this year and hope Anna Musonda can represent us next year.
We also raised funds for her national costume through Even Better lotion sales; unfortunately, this is where we must stop.
Thank you to our sponsors, Zambia Ku Chalo and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, for making Miss Zambia and Miss Supranational’s journeys easier.
Thank you as well to Jelumu Zambia, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Zamtel for helping us plan her trip.
