As Lusaka youths, we dare you to fulfill your promises and improve our lives. If not, we will be left with no choice but to change the UPND government.

LUSAKA, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2025 [SMART EAGLES]

Citizens First party youths in Lusaka says Zambians are eager for change of government in 2026, declaring that time has come to say “enough is enough” to unfulfilled promises by the UPND regime.

At a briefing addressed by various youths, CF Lusaka district youth Chairman Alick Lungu said it is sad that Zambians have been subjected to four years of lies by the UPND. Mr. Lungu said as Lusaka youths, they demand that the UPND leaders fulfill their campaign promises.

” We did not vote for empty rhetoric; we voted for tangible change. Lusaka is not merely a city of teachers, nurses, and doctors; it is also home to a large number of uneducated youths who depend on the government for employment opportunities,” Mr. Lungu said

“Your Excellency, we will not be swayed by empty promises. We will not be placated by the notion that our interests are being represented. We demand action, not words. We demand jobs, not handouts. And so, we say to you, our leaders, that we will not forget the betrayal we have suffered at your hands. We will not forget the promises you made and broke,” He said.

The CF Lusaka youth chair adds that come next year youths will ensure that their voices are heard, and their votes count.

“We will no longer be ignored. We will no longer be marginalized. We will rise up, and we will demand the change we deserve. The issue of load shedding leaves us with little to say, but plenty to lament. We have shed tears, and our cries have fallen on deaf ears. Despite the outcry, you have chosen to ignore our pleas,” He said.

“It is common knowledge that many youths, including those with grade twelve or university education, as well as those without formal education, have limited financial resources. They rely on small business enterprises, such as barbershops and welding services, which are heavily dependent on electricity. Not only have you failed to provide us with employment opportunities, but you have also decided to deprive us of the small businesses we have created for ourselves. Instead, you have chosen to favor your wealthy allies,” Mr. Lungu said.

“Your words, ‘if the government cannot change the lives of people, change the government,’ still echo in our minds. As Lusaka youths, we dare you to fulfill your promises and improve our lives. If not, we will be left with no choice but to change the UPND government. The time for rhetoric is over; we demand action,” He said
