The Chongwe Fire Brigade on Friday night responded to a road traffic accident at Chitemalesa involving a SINO tipper truck transporting Food Reserve Agency (FRA) maize.

The truck, driven by Mr. Anthony Zimba, 33, of Kalingalinga, Lusaka, veered off the road into a drainage, leaving the driver trapped in the cabin. Fire Brigade personnel successfully extricated him at 18:28 hours using specialized rescue equipment.

Mr. Zimba sustained a fractured left leg and was immediately rushed to Chongwe District Hospital in a Police CDF vehicle, escorted by Chongwe Police Officers and accompanied by Fire Brigade personnel.

The Fire Brigade commends the swift collaboration of Chongwe Police, Chinyunyu Health Post staff, and the responding fire teams, whose combined efforts ensured the casualty received timely medical attention.
