The 1994 and 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Legends Reunion Match has officially been launched and is scheduled for October 24, 2025.
The match will feature Zambia’s 1994 AFCON silver medallists and the 2012 AFCON champions, and will be played in Kitwe on the Copperbelt.
Speaking in Lusaka today, 1994 AFCON legend Kenneth Malitoli said the match will evoke cherished memories and serve as a reminder that, despite past competition, the teams remain united as brothers.
Meanwhile, 2012 AFCON legend Kalilo Kakonje described football as a journey of growth and development, urging the current Chipolopolo squad to draw inspiration from the legends.
Match Organising Committee Member Matimba Nkonje added that the event will be historic, serving as one of the highlights in celebrating Zambia’s 61st independence anniversary.
