EThe Citizens First is appalled by the continued dishonesty of the UPND government regarding the energy crisis that is crippling our nation. The recent remarks by Energy Minister Hon. Makozo Chikote on Diamond TV, where he shamelessly claimed that Zambians are receiving 10 to 15 hours of electricity daily, are not only false but a blatant insúlt to the suffering of our people.

The truth is clear to every household and every business: Zambians are enduring unbearable load shedding far beyond what the Minister has stated. Children are studying by candlelight, small businesses are closing, farmers are losing their produce, and industries are grinding to a halt. For the Minister to downplay this reality is nothing short of deception.

The people of Zambia deserve honesty, not propaganda. We cannot allow those in government to play politics with people’s lives. If the UPND has failed to provide solutions, they must admit it, instead of feeding the nation with lies. Leadership demands truth and responsibility, not manufactured narratives.

As Citizens First, we call on Zambians to rise above this deception. Let us hold the UPND government accountable for its failures at the ballot box. Register to vote, exercise your democratic right, and choose leaders who will tell you the truth and deliver real solutions.

We proudly present President Harry Kalaba a leader with a proven track record, tested both in the civil service and in government. Unlike those peddling falsehoods, he has shown integrity, competence, and genuine care for the people of Zambia.

Enough is enough. The lies must stop, and the suffering of our people must end.
