Northern Province Police commanding officer LUCKY MUNKONDYA says the deceased, identified as SAMUEL MUWOWO, was found unconscious last night at Chiba school grounds with a deep cut on the head.
Ms. MUNKONDYA notes that the uncle to the deceased, STEPHEN SINKAMBA, was alerted by members of the public about the situation and he rushed to the scene before reporting the matter to police.
She says officers later picked up the victim and rushed him to Kasama General Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
However, MUWOWO died this morning around 06:00 hours.
Ms. MUNKONDYA says Police has since instituted investigations into the matter.
