With the increase of CDF to K40 million per constituency per year, I believe we must start thinking long-term.
Right now, a big part of the CDF bursary fund is used to pay for a few students at different schools and colleges. My suggestion is different:
Instead of only paying fees for a few students every year, we must use part of CDF to build more schools and colleges in Matero.
• These schools and colleges will belong to the community.
• Every year, they will offer bursaries under CDF to hundreds of Matero students.
• This way, more young people benefit for many years, not just a few for one year.
• It will also create jobs for teachers, lecturers, and support staff in our community.
This is a sustainable way to stretch the value of CDF and secure the future of our children in Matero.
