A traditional healer in Isoka District of Muchinga Province, is on the run after allegedly raping a 28-year-old married woman who sought healing services.
Muchinga Province Police Commanding Officer Dennis Moola confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred on October 18, 2025, around 07:00 hours in Chief Kafwimbi’s area.
Brief facts are that, the victim has been married to Sinyinza, aged 30, for one year but without a child because she has been experiencing stomach problems that caused her menstrual cycle to stop in September 2025.
This led the victim and her husband to seek a solution from a traditional healer identified as Singogo.
The victim was given some medicine and told to return to correct the remaining issues.
On October 18, 2025, around 09:00 hours, the victim went back to get the medicine. Upon reaching the place, the suspect instructed the husband to go home while he remained with the wife.
She was then made to drink an unknown substance that caused her to be unconscious for an unknown period. During this time, the suspect allegedly raped her.
After some time, the husband decided to check on his wife and asked the suspect about her whereabouts. The traditional healer told him she had gone to get medicine, but the husband did not believe him.
He looked through the window, saw his wife sleeping, and immediately entered the house and woke her up.
After waking up, she felt discomfort in her private parts and general body pains, realizing the suspect had had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
The victim reported the matter to the police.
No arrest has been made as the suspect is on the run.
However, a manhunt has been launched to bring the suspect to book.
