A 29-year-old security guard from Arm Security company has been sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment with hard labor for stealing essential drugs worth K55,600.
Kelvin Nyambe was caught at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in February this year with 24 tins of ARVs, 27 tins of Ibuprofen, and 16 tins of Panadol concealed in a black bag.
He was caught while trying to exit the building.
The medicine was supplied to the facility by the Zambia Medicine and Medical supplies Agency ZAMMSA between 27th and 29th January 2025.
When the matter came up before Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili the accused was convicted upon his own admission of the offense.
