A woman of Ndola has learnt her lesson never to take ‘ichimbuya’ too far after she was sued in the local court and ordered to compensate another woman K600 for calling her a prostitute.
Ichimbuya is a traditional cousinship between Bembas and Ngonis whose origins dates back to the 19th Century.
However, Sandra Chifita, 36 , learnt her biggest lesson of her life when Priscilla Mulambo dragged her to the Kabushi Local Court for defamation of character.
According to a report with Zambia Daily Mail, in her testimony, Mulambo narrated that Chifita defamed her character after she called her prostitute. She said this was after she found Chifita in a shop when she had gone to collect her money.
“Last month, while coming back from work I passed through my friend’s shop to get my money but Chifita followed me and called me a prostitute.
