The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), has arrested five (05) suspects in connection with the offence of Forgery that occurred between 1st April 2024 and 10th December 2025 in Monze and Mumbwa Districts of Southern and Central Provinces in the Republic of Zambia.
In the first instance, particulars of the matter are that, Pamela Hanyati, female aged 44 and Florida Banda, female aged 44, both being employees of the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) as Marketing Officer and Marketing Assistant respectively, jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown, did forge a document namely, FRA Statement of Account by falsely duplicating Goods Issue Notes (GIN) for the issuance of maize stock to Zambia National Service (ZNS) involving 1,000 by 50kg bags of white maize valued at approximately K340,000.00 when in fact not.
In the second instance, Particulars of the matter are that Falesi Banda, female aged 41 and Jimmy Gomile, male aged 35, both being employees of the FRA as Marketing Assistants, jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown, did forge FRA Statement of Account by falsely purporting to have issued to ZNS, 686 by 50kg bags of white maize and 625 by 50kg bags of white maize both valued at K432,630 when in fact not.
In the third instance, particulars of the matter are that, Gavin Hambulo, male aged 34, being an employee of FRA as Marketing Assistant, jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown, did forge a document namely; FRA Statement of Account.
The mentioned suspects have since been released on bond and are expected to appear in court soon.
Members of the public are warned against engaging in fraudulent activities which can harm the nation’s economy. Those found wanting will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
The Commission hereby urges citizens to continue reporting suspicious activities in order to strengthen the fight against crime.
