A Chipata-based peace advocate, Morgan Banda, says he is now safe and resting in Lusaka after successfully completing his journey from Chipata.
In an interview this evening, Mr. Banda thanked all the people who supported and assisted him in various ways during his walk.
Mr. Banda said his wish is to meet President Hakainde Hichilema Tomorrow at the State House.
He embarked on the journey from Chipata to Lusaka on 16th December, 2025, as part of an initiative to promote unity and peace ahead of the 2026 General Elections.
He described the walk as a personal commitment to encouraging Zambians to uphold peace, tolerance, and national unity as the country approaches next year’s General Elections.
Four years ago, Mr Banda ran from Chipata to Lusaka for the burial of former President Kenneth Kaunda and returned to Chipata via plane courtesy of Proflight.
