Hundreds of people are mourning the death of Isabel Haambala who died at Itezhi Tezhi District Hospital.
Health authorities have confirmed that she died aged 28, on Sunday at around 18:30 hours while giving birth at the hospital. The baby is also reported to have died.
Her death has triggered an outpouring of grief on social media, where friends, relatives and community members have paid tribute, describing her as humble and down to earth.
Many messages of condolence have been shared with the bereaved family, as residents say she was well known in the community.
