Patriotic Front Chairperson for Elections and Member of the Central Committee, REMEMBER MUTALE, has called on political leaders to avoid inflaming the issue of LUSAKA Archbishop ALICK BANDA’s summoning by the Drug Enforcement Commission –DEC- for political gain.

Mr. MUTALE, who is also the Chitambo Member of Parliament, emphasised that while Archbishop BANDA holds a respected position, no individual should be exempt from lawful inquiry or subjected to unfair or selective treatment.

He has called for calm, restraint, and sobriety from all stakeholders, urging them to prioritise national peace, unity, and stability.

Mr. MUTALE has encouraged the public to allow the course of justice to unfold without speculation, prejudice, or political interference.

He explains that the DEC is constitutionally mandated to enforce the law and must follow due process during its investigations.

Speaking to ZNBC News, Mr. MUTALE clarified that the summoning of Archbishop BANDA does not imply guilt and should not be seen as harassment or persecution.
