Parliament is tomorrow, May, 15th 2026 dissolve ahead of the General Election set for August 13.
Acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Loveness Mayaka says the dissolution of Parliament is by operation of law.
Ms. Mayaka explained that in an election year, parliament stands dissolved automatically 90 days before the holding of the next general elections.
She further says that the constitution stipulates that elections will be held every 5 years after the last general election, on the second Thursday of August.
The fifth Session of the thirteenth National Assembly adjourned sine die on Tuesday.
This is according to a statement released to ZNBC News Acting Clerk of the National Assembly Loveness Mayaka.
