Road contractors engaged for various projects will have to wait for the auditors to complete their work before payments can be made because there are several queries regarding the quality of work undertaken.
According to ZAambia Daily Mail, Minister of Finance and National Planning Situmbeko Musokotwane says intelligence reports indicate that some road contractors are questionable and, therefore, should be audited.
“There are some saying they have done this and that and so on, [but] there are question marks as to whether the work was done and done properly,” Dr Musokotwane said.
“Those that will be cleared, of course, we might find money to pay because Government believes that if someone does the work, they must be paid.
