Vice President Mutale Nalumango says Government is on high alert to curtail the spread of Ebola into Zambia.
Mrs. Nalumango said that through the Zambia National Public Health Institute, Government has put in place measures to combat the spread of Ebola from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
She said testing mechanisms in laboratories are already in place, and recent tests on suspected cases of Ebola have all returned negative results.
Delivering a National Address on ZNBC Television and Radio this evening, the Vice President called for concerted efforts in combating the spread of Ebola.
She said that Government is working closely with traditional leaders, religious leaders, and media organizations to enhance public awareness and strengthen community resilience against the disease.
