EIGHT delegates to the African Union (AU) summit have tested positive to COVID-19.

Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo says out of the 890 delegates who were tested for COVID-19 on Thursday, eight turned out to be positive and are currently in isolation.

According to Zambia Daily Mail, Ms Masebo says the cumulative number of AU delegates tested for COVID so far stands at 1,206 out of which 1,196 tested negative, while 10 tested positive.

“The screening of delegations for the on-going African Union (AU) summit has continued at Kenneth Kaunda International Conference Centre [wing of the Mulungushi International Conference Centre] here in Lusaka, Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and hotels,” she said.

“On July 14, 2022, the health team screened and tested 890 delegates for COVID-19 and out of these, eight delegates tested positive.
