Two juveniles aged 10 and 13 years died on the spot in Southern Province after a Volvo truck overturned along the Great North Road between Pemba and Chisekes.

Acting Southern Province police commanding officer Moono Namalongo who confirmed the incident to Byta FM news says the accident occurred Friday morning.

Namalongo explains that the incident occurred when the driver of the truck Collins Mulenga of Kitwe improperly overtook a vehicle, in the process carried off the road and overturned.

He discloses that pedestrians male juvenile Master Silubaya, 13, and female juvenile Mariam Kasengula, 10, died on the spot while Emmanuel Kasengula about 12 years been admitted to Monze hospital after he sustained a fractured right hip and body pains.

Namalongo further reveals that two passengers Oatis Mudenda, 30, sustained general body pains and cuts on both hands while Innocent Sikafwamba, 34, sustained cuts on the hands, legs and general body pains.

He adds that the two have been admitted to Monze hospital together with the driver who sustained a fractured right leg and cuts on the forehead while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited in Pemba mortuary.
