World Bank is impressed with the Government’s implementation of the Transforming Landscapes for Resilience and Development (TRALARD) and the Zambia Integrated Forest Landscape Program (ZIFLP) projects.
World Bank Manager in charge of Environment and Natural Resources for East African region Mr Iain Shuker has disclosed that the World Bank has pledged continued support to both projects.
Mr Shuker said this on Monday after he paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Green Economy and Environment Eng. Collins Nzovu to discuss the implementation for projects which the World Bank is supporting.
Meanwhile, Eng. Nzovu has assured the Bank of government’s support for all projects.
He said Mr. Shuker’s visit to Zambia is timely and an opportunity to showcase Zambia’s efforts for sustainable development as espoused in the Vision 2030 and the 8NDP.
“As a ministry that is anchoring the TRALARD project, Government’s aspirations with the World Bank is for continued collaboration in green investments at micro to macro level such as support to the entire Northern region, Southern and Lusaka, North Western and Copperbelt provinces in climate smart agriculture, renewable energy, Northwestern, Copperbelt and Central provinces,” the Minister said.
The Minister assured the Bank that the Government will ensure that the slow moving components on the projects will be timely implemented.
