University of Lusaka students who have revealing clothes should consider changing their wardrobes because wearing a blouse showing off a cleavage will be deemed inappropriate.

The school is implementing what it terms an “appropriate dresscode” for its learners who will have to be conscious of what they wear on and off campus.

According to a notice issued today by school authorities, clothes revealing cleavage or undergarments will be deemed inappropriate if won when attending class or academic activisties on or off campus.

Clothes imprinted with derogatory, offensive and obscene words or pictures also fall under the unwanted list.

Male and female students’ pants that expose underwear, skin, among them sagging and ripped jeans, will be deemed inappropriate.

Clothing made of see through material like fishnets, unless clothing is won underneath, will not be condoned too.

Political regalia, male vests, biker shorts won when going to class also fall under inappropriate dress.

According to the registrar, the dress code is aimed at encouraging students to adopt a dressing style that Wil be acceptable in various fields of work and society in general.
