It is always important to be true to yourself when getting married, Musical song bird Kachanana Simate has said.

Kachanana Simate bid farewell to spinsterhood over the weekend when she tied the knot with Zorde.

While most people prefer exorbitant expediture on weddings which is preceded by wedding committees where family and friends are made to pay through their nose to finance the ceremony, Kachanana opted to do a simple civil wedding attended by few close friends and relatives.

She has told NKANI in an interview that she did a simple wedding because she is a simple person and did not want to go into debt just to please the public.

“I don’t see a need why people get into debts by getting a loan, or stressing family members through committees to contribute money towards a lavish wedding. Weddings are supposed to be simple and stress free .,” she said.

Now Mrs Zorde, Kachanana said it is important for people to be real and do things they can afford.

“A marriage is what you create with your partner and that time you get together is just a celebration, it can be simple as long as you surrounded by love.

I had who I needed to have at the event and they were happy for me,” She said.

Kachanan has further advised young people wanting to get married to avoid contracting debt or overspend if they do not have money.

Kachanana who met her husband online, dated for nine months before they tied the Knot.

Owing to the expectations people mostly have about public figures, Kachanana shrugged off pressure and chose to make the event to be about her and her husband and a few close people that attended.

She has however added that there will be a slightly bigger event next year preferably a traditional /Church wedding on top of the Civil one she had.
