Vegeland Farm of Ngwerere area in Lusaka has donated 1,000 chickens worth K60,000 as a Christmas gift to orphanages, hospitals and prisons.

The chickens were donated on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day to Kamwala Remand Prison, University Teaching Hospital, Chilenje Level One Hospital and Chawama Level One Hospital.

Others that received the donation were House of Moses, Fountain of Hope as well as the Home of David and Faith orphanages of Lusaka.

Speaking during the hand-over of the donation, Vegeland Farms owner Dr. Kingsley Chanda said Christmas was an appropriate day to show love to each other as it is the day our Lord and savior Jesus Christ was born.

Dr. Chanda further said according to his Christian faith, it is important to give back to the people and share love as Christmas is a symbol of unity and love.

“So, as Vegeland Farms, we decided to give back love on this important day of Christ’s birth,” Doc Chanda said.
