A 51-year-old man identified as David Singoyi of Nakonde has been murdered in cold blood at home by criminals.
The late Singoyi was married to two women in Sanyanta Village.
On Christmas, he reportedly decided to spend the night with his second wife but it wasn’t going to be a merry night.
Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Kaunda Mubanga says in a statement on Tuesday, Mr Singoyi was killed in his second wife’s bedroom between 01:00hrs and 05:00hrs on Monday.
The wife, Vyness Namwila, told police that she heard a bang on the bedroom door before two men broke in.
“She tried to escape but she was obstructed by the other man who she found by the door holding a gun. It was further reported that the criminals made sure they murdered the deceased and that is when they left her in the house,” says Mr Mubanga.
A machete is suspected to have been used in the act as multiple cuts have been found in the neck, head, hands and other parts of the body.
No arrest has been made so far with the motive of the attack still unknown. This is contained in a story published by Chete FM.
