Retired UNZA lecturer, and Political Analyst, Dr. Alex Ng’oma, has appealed to all motorists in the country, not to run over snakes that they find crossing the road. Dr. Ng’oma made this plea following a large snake that was run over last Saturday, about 200 meters after the Chisamba Police Checkpoint, towards Fringilla. Dr. Ng’oma explains that, although snakes are dreaded and feared, they actually play an important role in pest control. Dr. Ng’oma fears that, if people continue killing snakes, the snakes will become extinct, and future generations will not know that they ever existed.
