The Government of Zambia has provided a relief aid aircraft and a search and rescue aircraft to help rescue people who are still trapped due to floods in Malawi.

Malawi Defence Force Deputy Chief of military operations, Colonel Lameck Kalenga, says the aircrafts have been released though the Zambian air force.

The two aircrafts are expected to be used in hard to reach areas in Mulanje, Phalombe and Nsanje.

In the Southern Region of Malawi, 326 people have died and thousands have been displaced due to the impact of Cyclone Freddy.
