UNITED Party for National Development-UPND Spokesperson, Cornelius Mweetwa, says his party is fully geared to face former Republican President, Edgar Lungu should he decide to make a comeback to active politics.

Speaking during a Media Briefing in Lusaka, Thursday, Mweetwa stated that the greatest gift his party will be offered is being given Lungu as the Patriotic Front-PF candidate in the 2026 General Elections.

The Southern Province Minister, who is also Choma Central Constituency Member of Parliament, stated that his party defeated Lungu when he was at the helm, hence cannot be afraid of him now.

Meanwhile, Mweetwa dismissed assertions that the UPND ordered Police Officers to surround Lungu’s house on Wednesday in pursuit of his wife, stating that Officers were independently executing their duties.

But Lawyer Makebi Zulu, said the former First Lady, Esther Lungu was simply a victim of Police brutality, adding that it is insulting to accuse her of theft of Vehicles and property title.
