A 33 year old woman of Hansungule Village of Nalubamba Chiefdom in Namwala District has been apprehended by the Police for suspected murder of her 37 year old husband of the same village.
Southern Province Deputy Police Commissioner ALFRED NAWA says Police in Namwala received a Report from 52 year old OBERT CHUZYA of Hansungule village that his younger brother CHRISTOPHER CHUZYA was stabbed to death by his wife ORICE CHUZYA after a domestic dispute.
Mr. NAWA says the incident happened yesterday around 16:00 hours at Hansungule village and was reported at 18:10 hrs at Namwala Police Station.
He says Police rushed to the scene and retrieved the body of the deceased who sustained a deep knife wound on the chest.
According to ZNBC, Mr. NAWA has told ZANIS in Namwala that the accused has since been apprehended and a knife was also recovered from her.
He says the deceased’s body has since been deposited to Namwala District Hospital Mortuary awaiting post mortem.
