GRADE EIGHT PUPIL IN COURT FOR ASSAULTING TEACHER WITH A ‘NKOPO

‘A Grade Eight pupil at Mazabuka School of Continuing Education (MASCOE) has appeared in the Mazabuka Magistrate court for assaulting his teacher.

Appearing a before Magistrate Pasmall Mweetwa for plea was the 18 year old juvenile charged with assault, contrary to Section 248 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

According to Byta Fm, Facts before court are that the juvenile headbutted the teacher on the forehead, with the victim sustaining a swollen head and general pains around the area of contact.

Byta FM Court Beat Journalist reports that particulars of the offence are that on 22nd April, 2022, at 11:00 hours, the juvenile while at school, did assault Silvester Hamatanga thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.

The defendant admitted to committing the offense.

The matter has since been adjourned to 14th June, 2022 for presentation of facts and a report from a Social Welfare Officer.
