Government has assured the nation that medicines in health facilities will soon be procured as 15 contracts have been signed for the supply of drugs.

According to Zambia Daily mail, acting Minister of Health Ambrose Lufuma told Parliament in a ministerial statement yesterday that it is true that there is a shortage of drugs in health facilities countrywide but not at a crisis stage.

Mr Lufuma said the new dawn administration prioritises health because a healthy population results in a healthy and productive workforce.

He said K2.2 billion has been released with K1.4 billion paid to Zambia Medicines .
