NITROGEN Chemicals of Zambia Chief Executive Officer William Mwale has commended the New Dawn Government for awarding NCZ a contract to produce and supply close to 50,000 metric tonnes of Basal dressing fertilizer.

And Kafue District Commissioner Maurice Hikapulwe has declared that NCZ is ready to handle the tonnage that it has been given by the New Dawn Government to produce fertilizer for the 2022/23 farming season.

Speaking when Hikapulwe visited NCZ on a fact- finding mission, Mwale assured Government through the DC that NCZ will handle the consignment within the stipulated time frame.

Mwale said the awarding of NCZ with such an enormous but achievable task is a clear indication of the New Dawn Government’s commitment to the development of the Agriculture sector in the country.

“Thank you sir for your important visit, which happens to be your inaugural visit. As NCZ we are grateful to the New Dawn Government for the support. We acknowledge as NCZ that this is a lot of support, not only to NCZ but Kafue and Zambia as a whole” Mwale said.

And Hikapulwe expressed satisfaction with the way NCZ management was running the company.

He said Government is confident that NCZ will handle the close to 50,000 metric tonnes which it has been contracted within the given time frame.

Hikapulwe stated that the New Dawn Government under the able and visionary leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema will continue to offer support to NCZ in order to support the economic growth of Kafue.

Previously, NCZ used to get not more than 13,000 metric tonnes contract to produce and supply under FISP.
